eTwinning webinar

Durante la tarde de hoy he tenido la oportunidad de participar en un webinar organizado por el Servicio Nacional eTwinning para los docentes que formamos parte de la red de embajadores de la plataforma.
Además de dar la bienvenida a los nuevos embajadores y de presentar información general sobre los objetivos y proyectos en marcha para el curso que empieza, el encuentro sirvió para realizar una presentación del nuevo espacio eTwinning Live y, fundamentalmente, del recurso de vídeo conferencia disponible en la plataforma.

Generadores de noticias en prensa

A lo largo de la tarde, y gracias al MOOC que estoy realizando "Developing Digital Skills in the Classroom" he descubierto esta aplicación que puede resultar muy interesante para las clases. Se trata de "The Newspaper Clipping Generator", una sencilla plantilla que te permite crear el nombre de un periódico, añadir la fecha, un titular y una noticia (en el ejemplo he creado un periódico que lleva el nombre de nuestro proyecto Erasmus: IT@School)

Learning Diary for the Developing Digital Skills in the Classroom MOOC

One of the recommendations on the MOOC is "creating your own learning diary", a collection of all elements from the course relevant for my own context that, at the end of the process, could become a good summary of the course.

As I've already used Padlet on previous tasks, I've decided to try a new application for my learning diary, it's name is Tackk (tackk.com) and here you have the work in progress (I will use it to keep track of my reflections and activities on the course):

A new MOOC: Developing Digital Skills in your Classroom

I've started a new MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) organized by the European Schoolnet Academy platform. The title is Developing Digital Skills in your Classroom (#eSkillsCourse) and it's a course focussed on pedagogy, not on technology.
The course, that has started on 14th September, is organized in 6 modules and it explores the definition and role of digital skills generally and then looks at specific skill areas and how to address them in the classroom. The focus of these modules is on how pedagogically the skill area can be addressed and what tools there are available to help the teachers and students.
So far I've answered an easy survey and I've added up myself on the course map. It seems to be more than 1600 teachers taking part on this learning event.

Look for a composer ...

I've prepared this activity for my 1ESO students. It's just a warm-up activity in order to get in contact with basic details related to some of the most important composers in Music History. At the end of the lesson they are supposed to remember some of their names and, maybe, some interesting facts about their lives (such as their country or the century when they lived) It's also a good spelling activity as they should write the names properly in order to ask for a new question sheet.

Students work in pairs in order to find the composer who/whose ... Once they have filled the chart they have to show it to their teacher and, if everything is right, take another one. The pair that answers more questions wins.

Never stop learning

I've used photofunia in order to create this image to introduce myself in the Creative Classroom eTwinning Group, coordinated by Irene Pateraki.

The title of the exposition is "eTwinning: you'll never walk alone" and this is an extract of the comments written by the artist to introduce his work:

Somebody told me once "never stop learning". Step by step, slowly but surely I kept the path of knowledge and eventually I discovered it: eTwinning was the answer.

Presentación Erasmus+ KA1

Ayer, miércoles, tuve la oportunidad de reunir a todo el profesorado participante en los proyectos KA1 con el fin de ofrecer algunos datos de interés, información e instrucciones en relación con el proyecto.
La reunión sirvió, además, para hacer un breve resumen de todos los proyectos Erasmus+ concedidos a nuestro Centro durante los dos años de existencia del Programa y comentar el estado de cada uno de ellos.

Erasmus+ (KA219)

Una de las labores a las que he dedicado mi tiempo durante el último año es la de coordinador Erasmus+ en el Centro. Además de coordinar una comisión en el IES, de redactar los documentos de solicitud y de presentar los disintos proyectos en todos los foros (CCP, Claustro, Consejo Escolar), he creado y actualizado un blog en el que he ido dejando constancia de las distintas actuaciones relacionadas con este Programa en nuestro Instituto (desde su fecha de creación, el 6 de agosto de 2014, he creado 80 entradas y ha recibido más de 2300 visitas)

Hasta la fecha todas las solicitudes que hemos presentado han sido valoradas muy positivamente y eso ha dado como resultado dos proyectos KA101 (Educación escolar) y un proyecto KA219 (Asociación estratégica entre centros educativos) que desarrollaremos durante los dos próximos cursos.

El proyecto KA2, que lleva por título IT@School, me hace especial ilusión ya que permitirá que 24 alumnos del IES Emilio Alarcos compartan esta experiencia con otros 24 alumnos de Bélgica, Holanda y Hungría. He creado este Prezzi para difundir el proyecto entre la comunidad educativa (pincha sobre la imagen para acceder a la presentación).
